Ayana vs. Dominique
Exiting her car, Ayana approached her sister’s home with a million thoughts swarming her mind. She’d taken a few days to sort out her feelings after Raheem exposed Dominique’s true intentions, but even after giving herself time, all Ayana felt was anger.
She couldn’t believe Dominique had been plotting on Raheem while pretending to care about her, her well-being, and her relationship. While Ayana had been worried about his clients, she should have been concerned about her own damn sister.
Knocking on the door, Ayana cleared her throat, hoping she found the right words to express how she felt before Dominique opened the door. However, when it swung open, all she saw was read—and her fist connected to her sister’s face before she could register what was occurring.
“What the fuck?” Dominique stumbled, grabbing her mouth.
“You trifling, selfish, conniving bitch,” Ayana spewed, stepping inside.
“Have you lost your fuckin’ mind? Being pregnant won’t save you from me beating your ass, Ayana.”
“I’m sure you would leap at the chance of me losing Raheem’s baby since you’ve wanted him all this time. Right?”
“What?” Dominique feigned innocence, but Ayana could see the guilt in her eyes. “What are you talking about? I never—”
“Save it!” Ayana thundered. “I can’t believe I was stupid enough to believe you actually cared about what I was going through with him. When the whole time, you were probably planting shitty advice to make things worse between us. You’re nothing but a convincing bitch, Dominique.”
“He was never supposed to be with you anyway!” Dominique finally dropped the act. “I saw him first, but you had to go after what I wanted, per usual.”
Ayana paced the floor. “How was I supposed to know that you even knew who he was?” Pausing, she threw up her hands. “You know what, no. I’m not doing this. I refuse to argue over who was supposed to have my man first.”
“Because everything is yours, right? Whatever Ayana wants, she gets. Everyone else’s feelings be damned. You’ve been the same since we were kids. I don’t know why I expect anything different now. That’s exactly how you ruined your relationship with Ra—”
“No,” she stepped toward Dominique. “You don’t get to say another fuckin’ thing to me about him. As a matter of fact, I don’t want you to say shit to me at all. I’m done with you, your drama, and your negativity.”
Ayana’s eyes widened as her sister laughed wildly. “I’m negative? I suggest you look in the mirror before throwing out insults, Sis. You’re the most negative of all.”
“Oh, believe me. I’m viewing things completely differently and reevaluating all my decisions, including allowing you to be part of my life. And I’m glad you seem to have so much hatred toward me because that means we’re on the same page. Moving forward, I don’t want a damn thing to do with you. That means, when you see me, act like I don’t exist. And that goes for my child, too.”
“Fuck you, Ayana,” Dominique spat as Ayana headed for the door. “You think you’re specifical because you’re having Raheem’s baby? He doesn’t even want to be with you. You’re no—”
Dominique’s words fell on deaf ears as Ayana left her home, letting whatever her sister said roll off her back. As far as she was concerned, Dominique no longer existed in her world. All she cared about moving forward was repairing the damage she’d done between her and Raheem so that, moving forward, they could forge a healthy space to raise their child. Anything else was on the back burner.
